After one of the longest sustained downturns in its history, private equity is slowly returning to more normal levels of deal activity.

Given that many general partners have experienced a virtual hiatus in transactions over the last 18 months, leading to a significant reduction in distributions, the balance of power has subtly shifted in favour of limited partners. And with competition for limited partner funds intensifying, it is more important than ever that general partners’ investor communications firstly, reflect best practice, and secondly, are closely aligned with media communications programmes to ensure a seamless and integrated management of their brand.

Initially, Equus will work with you to gain an understanding of your organisation and its brand. We will meet with you to learn more about your activities and messaging, and analyse your existing visual identity, focusing on your website, marketing collateral and investor communications to see where improvements could be made. If you would like us to undertake a formal, or informal audit of investor (or other stakeholder) views we would be happy to do so.

While a successful track record is undoubtedly the most powerful marketing tool in a general partner’s armoury, in a competitive landscape, consistent messaging and language across all channels and applications is equally important, as is a clear, identifiable brand design. A consistent approach to design can help create positive brand goodwill, and Equus will be happy to advise on design where relevant.
